We had a chat with Carl Jeffrey, one of our valued Warehouse Store Persons at our South Island Branch in Christchurch.
For Carl, working at TRT is more than just a job - it’s like being part of a family.
“It’s a great team to work with, and I feel included and valued. I’m not just a number. TRT feels more like a home than a workplace, and it’s hard to miss our iconic ‘Big Red Sign’!” says Carl.
One of Carl’s proudest moments come from being recognised by management for his dedication and skill in warehousing and logistics - both locally and at our Hamilton location.
“One of my favourite projects was remodelling the layout of the big warehouse. By reconfiguring the racking and optimising space, we’ve made it easier to pick stock and offer a bigger range to our customers with greater efficiency.”
Carl knows that his attention to detail plays a vital role in TRT’s success:
“If I don’t do my job correctly, it can impact stock balances, supplier paperwork, and customer billing. Getting it right is crucial, and it’s rewarding to know my efforts make a difference.”
His advice to new team members?
“If you give 100%, you’ll get 100% back. Listen to the advice of others and learn from their experience. Remember, there’s no ‘I’ in team.”
